Strut proudly

There are two versions below of a poem (and a number of options).

Which version do you prefer?

Strut proudly

On the fridge of the Escher queen
Her grandson’s art picture was seen
On well-crafted hands
A mirrored orb stands
Reflecting headless robot’s sheen

Alternate version:

Strut proudly

On the fridge of the Escher queen
Her grandson’s art picture was seen
On well-crafted hand
A mirrored orb stand
Reflects a headless robot’s sheen

Or maybe last line:

Globe reflects headless robot’s sheen

Instead of Globe maybe Ball or Sphere?

Which version do you prefer?

Lipson wrote a book ‘I Do Not Itch to Etch : Views in Verse’ ISBN 9780961859107 I think but everywhere I try to download for free they ask for credit card details.

  3. This is brilliant – both artwork and poem! Thank you – I’ll have to show it to my grandson tomorrow

    Globe reflects headless robot’s sheen
is my favorite – I like the slant rhyme of Globe/Robot.

I hope your grandson enjoyed the poem. An updated version is now in my header post: https://aaamazingphoenix.wordpress.com/

      1. Shame on me. I didn’t manage to show him the poem. We were at my daughter’s birthday party party, and our celebrations are so noisy and wild that it’s impossible to do anything as normal as showing someone a poem. But that’s good, since I can show him the new version instead.

I see the first link in the google search (in another comment) attributes a version ‘The Committee’ to Leslie Lipson.

      1. I googled him. He was political scientist who liked to write nonsense poetry for fun, but I can’t find any other poems apart from that one.

  4. the second version goes with the image better, i guess. without the image, the first one sounds better! and yes, the image is impressive in itself! 🙂
