Damned Pathetic Princess

Damned Pathetic Princess
(with apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

O loyal to the spoils accrued thyself,
And loyal to thy brand, but not to us–
Thus bear witness, that rememberable day,
When, pale as yet, and battle-worn, Princess
Who scarce had plucked thou flickering life again
From halfway down the shadow of the grave,
Passed to thee through thy guests from their fate,
And grumbling rolled one tide of rage through all
Thou vengeful passengers with loud leagues of hate
Not welcome! Witness, too, their violent cries,
The prayers of many a passenger and crew–
Thunderless lightnings striking under sea
From sunrise to sunset of all thy realm,
And that true hate, whereof we lately heard
A strain to shame us ‘keep you to yourselves;
So loyal is too costly! Guests–your hate
Is but a burden: loose the bond, and go.’

Did most new passengers boarding Majestic Princess in Auckland have charges on their account from the previous occupants of their cabin? A system error still existed onboard for over two months after we were stung for USD $376 for telephone calls (not ours)!
